In the rolling hills of Tennessee, not too far from the bustling energy of Nashville, is where our story began. It's a tale of love, family, transformation, and, of course, Icelandic Sheepdogs.

Jennifer, a native of Nashville, grew up with the countryside as her playground and dogs as her loyal companions. For her, dogs weren't just pets; they were family. She believed in their power to connect, heal, and bring joy. It was a sentiment she hoped her family would one day share.

Enter Brandon, a transplant from the sunny landscapes of Scottsdale, Arizona. Moving to Nashville in 2009, he came with a rich tapestry of experiences, but a love for dogs wasn't one of them. However, love has a peculiar way of challenging and changing our perspectives. With the birth of their two wonderful boys in 2016 and 2017, Jennifer expressed, with unwavering conviction, that the family wasn't quite complete without a four-legged companion.

Skeptical but willing, Brandon embarked on a digital quest, filtering through breeds with the precision of a seasoned shopper. The checklist was long – good with kids, energetic yet loveable, protective but not aggressive, intelligent but not easily bored. Many might have said it was an impossible search, but then the Icelandic Sheepdog appeared.

Fast forward two years, and Brandon wasn't just converted; he was captivated. The Icelandic Sheepdog wasn't just a pet; it was a revelation. The breed's loyalty, intelligence, and versatility made it the perfect companion for their growing family.

Viskíhjarta was born from this transformative journey. Our kennel, named with a nod to both Icelandic heritage and a touch of Tennessee spirit, means "Whiskey Heart." It's a moniker that captures our passion, our journey from skepticism to adoration, and our commitment to introducing others to the magic of Icelandic Sheepdogs.
